Celebrating the Heart of MCHS: Volunteers, Nurses, and Long‑Term Care Teams – April 2026

Celebrating National Volunteer Week at MCHS
National Volunteer Week (April 19–25, 2026) a special time to recognize and celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time and talents to support MCHS. Our volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming, compassionate environment for residents, visitors, and staff across our organization.
As we move into May, we have the opportunity to pause and recognize the people who make MCHS not just a place of care, but a community of compassion. From our dedicated volunteers to the nurses and long‑term care teams who serve patients every day, this season is about gratitude, recognition, and celebration.
Celebrating Nurses Week
May also brings Nurses Week (May 6-12, 2026), a time to recognize the extraordinary dedication, skill, and compassion of our nursing teams. Nurses are often the first face a patient sees and the last to offer comfort and reassurance. They advocate for residents, coordinate care and provide education.
At MCHS, our nurses embody excellence every day. Their ability to balance clinical expertise with empathy makes a lasting impact on patients and families.
Thank you to all our nurses for your resilience, your commitment to high‑quality care, and the compassion you bring to every shift.
Recognizing Long‑Term Care Week
Long‑Term Care Week (May 10–16, 2026) is another important opportunity in May to honor the teams who care for residents with patience, dignity, and respect. Working in long‑term care is more than a job—it’s about building relationships, creating a sense of home, and supporting quality of life every day.
Our long‑term care staff form connections with residents and their families. They celebrate milestones, provide comfort during challenges, and ensure residents feel valued and cared for. Their dedication helps make our long‑term care communities safe, supportive, and welcoming places to live.
