Lutheran Home Resident Information

Dietary Services

Each resident will be provided with nutritious meals and nourishments as deemed necessary by the attending physician and/or staff. Therapeutic diets will be provided according to physician's orders with a variety that complies to the prescribed diet modification.

Environmental Services

Laundry, Housekeeping, and Maintenance services are provided seven days a week. These individuals are responsible to maintain MLH in a safe, pleasant and clean order so residents will feel at home and comfortable in their surroundings.

Financial Services

Office staff provides assistance with your financial concerns. They will explain daily rates, additional costs, billing procedures, and other financial matters you may encounter.

Hours are 9:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday.

Spiritual Care

We are concerned about the total person: spirit, body, mind and soul. The lay minister, along with local pastors, conduct chapel services each Wednesday and Sunday. The lay minister and local pastors also conduct bible studies. Pastoral services are always available in times of serious illness.

Nursing Services

To meet the nursing needs of the residents, the facility provides 24 hours/day licensed nursing services. The nursing department is managed by a director of nursing. Each resident has a primary RN case manager, LPN and Nursing Assistant. Each shift has licensed nursing personnel on duty and registered nursing assistants. Nursing Assistants are certified and required to have 75 hours of classroom time.

Our nursing home develops a comprehensive plan of care for each resident. This comprehensive plan of care is developed by an interdisciplinary team that includes the attending physician, a RN, Social Service Director, activity and dietary personnel. We encourage participation of our residents and their legal guardian or chosen representative in the care planning process. Care conferences are scheduled and held on a quarterly basis. Additional conferences are held to address special problems, discharges or changing conditions.

Physician Services

The facility admits and provides care for residents as ordered by the physician. Residents have the right to choose their attending physician. The facility must provide you with his or her name, specialty, business address and telephone number. The facility also makes provisions for securing emergency physician service when the primary physician is not immediately available.

Physician routine visits for skilled nursing facilities are 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and then at 60 day intervals. Medical services offered in the area are available by request.

Social Services

The Social Services Department makes provisions for caring for the medically-related social needs of the resident during their initial placement, extended stay and for the discharge process. A written social history for each resident shall be kept in the medical record and shall be utilized in developing the resident's plan of care. It shall contain information concerning the resident's previous occupation, cultural and educational background. The record also contains interests, relationships with other people, hobbies, problems and needs. Recognition shall be given to the resident's previous life experiences, their present interests and strengths, preparation and attitude toward admission/discharge, and adjustment to his or her present illness or disability. The Social Service Department will aid families and residents in their adjustment to the nursing home. Referrals for LICSW available.

The Social Service Director acts as an information and referral source for residents, families and staff in addition to providing lists of consultants available for the community as requested.
